about

Pretty Disaster was born through the ending of a 9 year relationship, and the loss of my religion in the same breath. The subsequent growth and rebirth that buds out of tragedy underlies the powerful vocals and poetic lyrics.

lyrics

Pretty Disaster

I miss the way you laugh
I miss the way you speak
I miss the way you made me feel known
When you were making love to me

I miss the way you dance
Always slightly out of beat
I miss the way you broke all of the rules
And made a rebel out of me

If I could go back
And erase the years I lost
I hope you know that
I’d count the gain to be far greater than the cost

Rain on the water
Rings on a tree
A drop in the bucket
Of Times Memory

A pretty disaster
The end of all things
The smoke and the ashes
Apocalypse breathes
In symphonies

I miss your quiet tears
When I said I had to leave
I miss that I was everything to somebody
And they were everything to me

Oh, am I missing you
Or just a shadow of what’s been
And are all the ugly memories
Just a ploy to set me free

And do you forget me
When you are lying next to her
Or are you just reaching
Grasping for something even close to what we were

Rain on the water
Rings on a tree
A drop in the bucket
Of Times Memory

A pretty disaster
The end of all things
The smoke and the ashes
Apocalypse breathes
In symphonies

Your weakness made me strong
Your broken made me heal
Your fighting gave me peace
And your lies showed me what’s real

True love is misery
That colours every song
So sing its melody
Now Our love is truly gone.

Rain on the water
Rings on a tree
A drop in the bucket
Of Times Memory

A pretty disaster
The end of all things
The smoke and the ashes
Apocalypse breathes
In symphonies
In symphonies
In symphon—ies
Oh, In symphonies
